Yakuza Zero Announced for PS3 & PS4

Sega has announced a new title is in the works that will serve as a third installment to the PS2 hits 'Yakuza' and the sequel 'Yakuza 2'. Not much has been made public, outside of the name. Sega has promised more details will be given at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. The game is slated for release on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The PS3 received an HD remake of Yakusa 1 & 2, but this will be the first new gen release of the game.

Sega has announced another Yakuza 1 & 2 HD remake will be opitimized and released for the Wii U as well, making it the first non-Sony installment of the game.

The original games were never released in N. America, so it remains to be seen whether or not the newest title will make it to N. American shores either.

If you’ve ever wanted to play a console game on your phone, you’re in luck. Today, Sony announced two new Xperia smartphones with the ability to use the PS4′s Remote Play feature. Of course, you won’t be expected to swipe and tap to simulate a controller on a touchscreen. Instead, Sony is shipping a device that will attach your phone to a full-fledged DualShock 4. With that in mind, this might just be the best mobile game streaming device we’ve ever seen.

The 5.2-inch Xperia Z3 and 4.6-inch Xperia Z3 Compact will both support Remote Play and Sony’s Game Control Mount attachment. Geek.com’s Russell Holly got a hands-on demo this morning, and he was able to give me some insight into the device itself. Apparently, the PlayStation app is featured prominently on the main screen, and still offers the same functionality we’ve come to expect over the last year of its existence. A Sony representative explained that the Remote Play performance will be identical to the experience on the Vita, so you can expect most games to function well provided that you have a decent WiFi connection.

Game Mount In order to play PS4 games on your smartphone, you’ll need to pair it to a DualShock 4. Based on Sony’s own product shots, it appears that the controller will be connected to the phone over Bluetooth �" not USB. While this solution is certainly less portable than a Vita, it is superior in one important aspect: the controls. The Vita doesn’t have enough buttons to replicate the PS4 experience, so you end up mapping buttons to the touchscreen and rear touchpad of the device. It works, but it’s clunky. With an Xperia Z3 paired to a DualShock 4, you’ll get full-fledged native control.

Considering that the Vita itself has Bluetooth support, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Sony patch in controller support as well. Similarly, the PlayStation app on iOS and generic Android devices could potentially offer similar functionality in the future. Sony wants to bring the PlayStation brand everywhere, and it’s doing a bang-up job. PlayStation Now and Remote Play are being developed for a wide variety of hardware, and the PlayStation TV will offer those features at a rock-bottom price.

Over at Microsoft, we still haven’t heard a peep. About a year ago, there were significant rumblings that Microsoft was developing its own streaming solution, but nothing has come of that as of yet. On the PC, the Nvidia Shield hasn’t exactly set the world on fire, so Sony is out to a commanding lead in mindshare and marketshare for game streaming. While the Xperia Z3 itself isn’t going to change the landscape of gaming, this is a significant step towards making game streaming completely ubiquitous. It’s just a shame that Sony’s competition seems so far behind.

Tutorial: How to get your GAME PKG FILE off PS4!!!!

Today i was curious to see if i could download my games in pkg file form on my computer from my PS4!!! Well i succeeded!! I am gonna go through step by step how to do so. The reason for this release is wouldn't it be nice to figure out how similar ps3 and ps4 game are and if we can figure out a way to downgrade are ps4 games to play on ps3 or upgrade are ps3 games to play on are ps4? Also wouldn't it be nice if we can upload these games and download them and they be playable on a disk on any OFW not only ps3 cfw?
So the goal of this Tutorial is:
1 to challenge developers to make a new PKG viewer that can open a ps4 pkg file!
2 to challenge us all to work together to see if we can make ps4 backward compatible.
3 be able to make are psn games for ps4 playable on disc form on any console
4 to see what we can do with this most of all

Tool you need and how to set up your ps4 to connect to it.
STEP 1: {Getting the tool and setting it up} You will need to look up in google PS3.ProxyServer.GUI by CF3B5
Once you have downloaded and installed CF3B5's proxy server you need to find where the install location of this tool which in windows 7 you will find it in Programs Files (x86)
Once you have the tool opened you will see 3 Tabs on the top. 1: Proxy Setting 2: Logs (Which is very important to this tutorial) 3: Replace Files (which i wont mess with)
Alright, now go to tab 1 Proxy settings. To set this up don't freak out and think it wont work bc there is no PS4 button on it. You actually want to check box the ps3 button even though it's gonna be connected to your PS4. You also need the IP address off your computer to do this.
So real quick go to your start button and type cmd in search. A black box that you can type in will appear. You will want to type in it ipconfig.
a bunch of crap will pop up if you did it correctly. You want to look for aIPv4 Address to get your Ip that you will be using in the proxy server to connect to ps4. If you did it right the ip should look like 192.168.1.100
Okay, now take the IP you just got off your cmd and put it on the first tab. And for port it should be 8080
STEP 2: {Connecting proxy server to ps4} It's time to set up the PS4.
Go to settings on your ps4.
Once in settings go to Network
In network, go to set up internet connection.
now hit use wi-fi
than hit custom
Once in which Wi-Fi network do you want to use connect to your wi-fi
IP Address Settings should be left on Automatic
DHCP Host Name should be left on "DO Not Specify"
DNS Settings should be left on Automatic
MTU Settings should be left on Automatic
Proxy Server hit use
In Proxy Server under Address put the IP that you got off cmd and make sure you have 8080 under port number
Hit next.
Before you test connection, you wanna hit start on the first tab on PS3.ProxyServer.GUI
Once you hit start you now can test connection and should now be proxy connected to your computer
STEP 3: {GETTING YOUR DOWNLOADED GAME OFF YOUR PS4 IN A PKG FILE} Okay first off you need to have a ps4 game downloadable to your ps4. So at this time let's say you have Call Of Duty Ghost downloaded on your ps4. Well delete it off your ps4 right now.
Okay next step so you can start looking for the pkg file to download on your computer. go to Logs on PS3.ProxyServer.GUI
Now on your PS4 find Call of Duty Ghost in playstation store.
Now hit download and don't go off the page you just hit download on. So you should still be in playstation store where you hit the download.
At the same time you hit download you need to be watching your Logs on PS3.ProxyServer.GUI
As soon as you hit download you will see like 3 or so links pop up in your logs. They will be about 2 or so lines long each and end will end with .pkg? Try to copy of click on each. Once they are clicked on they will automatically download in your downloads from your default browser
There you go the first way to get PKG files off PS4[,

I have tried testing it by opening up the pkg files in PKG viewer 1.3 and so far no luck. I will be doing many more test's to see what else i can learn from doing this method. So if any one else try's this method that i found and finds a way to open the pkg file or learns any thing else new from this discovery please post it under this thread so maybe we can meet some of the goals that i put up top on this thread!!

Italian developers BiteYourConsole have created a new mod called BiteYourPlayer v1.0 Beta which allows you to play video files on your Playstation 4 using its web browser and the power of HTML 5.

The new PlayStation 4 is equipped with a web browser from all over, maybe one of the fastest on a console from the living room, and so that BiteYourConsole jumped at the potential offered by a language such as HTML5.

With a speech of this magnitude we were able to make a simple but potential movie player in mp4 format (format commonly used for watching movies via smartphone and PlayStation Portable).

To run the application needs a Http Server, we have chosen HTTP File Server (HFS) that once started will allow us to be able to watch our video from any device connected to our Wi-Fi network.

Configuration

Download the portable version of the HFS program, run it and drag the contents of the file into the window Biteyourplayer.rar Virtual File System.

To be able to watch a movie on the PlayStation 4 via the Web browser does not have to do is drag the movie to the video folder, the files will have the mp4 format and must be renamed to PS4.

After the configuration, there is nothing left to start the server and log on with the IP of your console through the browser (eg 192.168.1.87:7000 / index.html).

Hubert Sumlin Dead at 80

Hubert Sumlin, the longtime collaborator with Howlin' Wolf  whose playing on such songs as "Wang Dang Doodle," "Spoonful" and "Backdoor Man" influenced generations of guitarists died Sunday in New Jersey. He was 80.
Sumlin was ranked number 43 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and was a mainstay of the Chicago blues scene. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2008. Sumlin influenced Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa, among others.
Hubert Sumlin was born in Mississippi, raised in Arkansas and moved to Chicago to play with Howlin' Wolf. After Wolf's death in 1976, Sumlin continued to play with the rest of Wolf's band under the name The Wolf Gang.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2002 and had a lung removed. In recent years Sumlin continued to perform when his health permitted.

Heath comments 'unacceptable'

The Democratic Alliance on Monday said it was considering launching a legal bid to overturn President Jacob Zuma's appointment of Willem Heath as the head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU).

On Sunday, the City Press newspaper quoted Heath saying former president Thabo Mbeki was responsible for the charging of Zuma's former financial advisor Schabir Shaik with corruption.

He also claimed Mbeki initiated rape charges against Zuma.

Zuma was acquitted of rape, while Shaik was convicted of bribing Zuma in relation to arms deal contracts.

The DA's Debbie Schafer said Heath's comments were problematic.

"I do find it very strange and quite unacceptable," she said.

How to keep Mac OS X's safe downloads list up-to-date

Did you know that Mac OS X includes some very basic protection against malicious downloads?

When you download an application via Safari or an attachment in Mail and then try to open it, Apple checks the file against its "safe downloads list" (sometimes called "XProtect.plist" after its file name) to ensure it doesn't contain any known Mac malware.

Mac OS X is supposed to check for updates to this malware definitions list daily, but you can force an update using one of the following techniques.

The first method is to click on the Apple menu and select "System Preferences..." and then from the main window click on Security, then click on the General tab, and then uncheck and re-check the box next to "Automatically update safe downloads list" (note that you may need to click on the lock and type an administrator password first). If you don't see this checkbox, you should make sure you're running either Lion (v10.7 or later) or the latest version of Snow Leopard (v10.6.8).

Although this is the simplest solution, it doesn't give any indication of whether the update has actually completed, which is why I prefer to use the following alternative instead.

The second method is to download and install Safe Download Version, a freeware app created by Adam Christianson of The Mac Observer.

When you run Safe Download Version, it tells you the version of your currently installed definitions and their release date, lets you check for updates, and notifies you whether you already have the latest version installed or if a new update has been applied.

You can also check for updates by running XProtectUpdater via a Terminal command, as described in this article.

Although it's nice to know you have the latest version of Apple's malicious download definitions, don't let it give you a false sense of security.

Mac OS X currently only detects a limited number of specific malicious downloads from about ten different types of Mac malware. Apple's built-in protection does not defend against a wide range of threats including (but not limited to) malware copied over a network share or from an external drive, malicious JavaScript code embedded in Web pages, Microsoft Word or Excel macro viruses, malware downloaded with an application that doesn't utilize Apple's safe downloads protection, or malware that already exists on your hard drive.

Apple's download scanner also doesn't offer any protection against malware for other platforms such as Windows, so you'll have no way of knowing whether that flash drive you used at work or on a friend's PC might be carrying an infection.

Top 10 Expected PC Games of 2012

So we all know what 2011 has in store for us, there are some great titles up there. Elder Scrolls Skyrim; Portal 2 and Star Wars the Old Republic are just some of the titles waiting to be unleashed upon gamers this year. But since we know what 2011 has to offer, we can look ahead to 2012, and if you’re not too worried about the impeding Mayan doom we can start to dig a little deeper and see what we can find.

10. Warhammer 40k Dark Millennium

The new MMORPG from developer Vigil games which is a shooter based on the Warhammer 40k universe which promised huge fire-fights as well as player formed squads and flanking and cover mechanics. MMO shooters have not been faring well over the past year – with games like APB going offline within the first 3 months and is now coming back as a free to play MMO.

But Vigil does have some RPG experience behind them with games like Darksiders. And if it fairs better than its predecessor Warhammer Online it could even be a Wow beater.

9. Fallout Online

A few years back the company Interplay which was behind the Fallout 1 and 2 titles licensed Fallout from its current owner Bethesda Softworks to create an MMO on the series. Speaking to Edge Magazine, Interplay president Eric Caen said, “We have 90 people working on it. Even in January 2009, you were already able to move across the world.” The game is scheduled to begin beta testing in 2012.

Caen then went on to say:

An MMOG must be a lot deeper than a standalone game. It’s not a shooting game we’re making. You can shoot, but it’s a very small portion of the game. The game itself is about reconstructing the world. What is unique about our project is how we’re trying to get it into many communication systems.

This is a big problem for World Of Warcraft, because the fantasy universe is not compatible with modern communication systems. It would be odd to receive an SMS from a troll. But in a post-apocalyptic world…

But would the desolate apocalyptic world like the one in Fallout feel the same if it was crawling with another 30,000 or so people.

8. Saints Row 3

THQ recently announced that they would be putting out a brand new chapter into the series with a release date due in Fiscal 2012 and is being developed by Volition Inc.

Danny Bilson of THQ stated, “When you see Saints Row 3, it’s the visual quality of the GTA IV universe. It goes up there. It still has the wacky, insane stuff. It’s going to get really big and really loud in December. And as soon as you see the assets, the gamers will go: ‘Oh, I know what they invested in. The technology.’

7. Modern Warfare 3

This will surely be a game that millions will buy even though it may turn out to be a little bit disappointing just like the last instalment has been for me. Activision seems to try too hard to rush to get the games out every year and don’t really seem to take into consideration the quality of their games. They seem in too much of a hurry to milk the money out of millions of fans.

However, I may be wrong. The online gameplay is certainly addictive. And if developed right it could be the best of the CoD series yet.

6. StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm

Blizzard has recently announced that they plan to release at least two games by the end of 2012. There’s is still some speculation to what the games may be but the biggest contenders are Diablo III and the StarCraft 2 expansion Heart of the Swarm.

5. Diablo III

“We’re developing Diablo III to be the definitive action role-playing game, and a true continuation of the Diablo series.” – Blizzard

The next instalment of the series features exiting new classes like the witch doctor and returning classes like the barbarian have been completely revamped. A new graphics engine also promises to display characters in a beautiful, fully 3D environment.

4. Battlefield 3

EA and Dice’s latest ‘trailer’ of the game has to be a little bit of a disappointment to me due to the fact it didn’t reveal much at all about the game. However that’s not to say that that the game won’t be great, the series really has produced some excellent games and I am a much bigger fan of the series than I am of the CoD franchise.

Dice have been busy over the past year providing us with Bad Company 2, BFBC2: Vietnam and the new medal of honour so hopefully now they have turned their full attention to BF3.

3. BioShock: Infinite

The third game in the BioShock series breaks away from its underwater environment and takes the player to a floating city held up by dirigibles called Columbia.

The game is set in 1912 and players play as Booker DeWitt who is a former private detective. Strange things start to happen as the city disappears into the clouds. Be prepared for some spooky encounters just like those in the first two BioShocks.

2. Deus Ex: Human Revolution

One of the best games ever is back and looks better than ever with its stunning new graphics. The game takes place in the year 2027 which is 25 years before Deus Ex. Gameplay will feature mechanical augmentations instead of nanotech augmentations. The Mechanical augmentations will be divided into 4 types: Combat, Technology, Stealth and Social. So a player who specialises in both stealth and Social can play through the whole game killing bosses.

And that’s what we love about Deus Ex – the fact that we can play it over and over and have a different outcome every time.

1. Half-Life 2: Episode 3

First announced in 2006….I’ll just let that sink in a moment and provide enough time for you to ask, “why the hell has it taken them over 6 years to get this game out!” And let me remind you, this is no entirely new game, it’s a sequel which usually only take about 2 or 3 years.

However, if they have put 6 years into this game, I think it’s pretty much of a given that this will be a game which will be remembered.
